"Fans are very much caught up in an outward appearance. They think that somehow God is going to be impressed with their religious rule keeping or rituals or their traditions. There's nothing wrong with those things, in and of themselves. The problem comes when we do those things and it's not out of a pursuit of Jesus or a relationship with Him, but as a way to prove or measure our own spirituality." - Pastor Kyle Idleman
What are the primary "Christian" things that you do throughout your day? (Example: Prayer? Christian music? Morning quiet time? Write in your prayer/youth journal? Church on Wednesdays?)
Now, list reasons or the motivation behind why you have done those things? Was it because you desired a better relationship with Jesus, was it out of habit, was it because you trusted what you were taught? Whatever the reason, be honest with yourself.
When we begin to understand why we do things and our motivation for doing it, then we can really enhance our relationship with Jesus and be intentional about getting to know Him better!

Week 3: What Must I Do?
What, if anything, do you think Jesus is asking you to give up?
How do you determine Jesus is asking you to give something up? (conviction? Is it blatant? Do you just feel you need to?)
"Fans want to follow Jesus, but not in a way that interferes with their lives."- Pastor Kyle Idleman
Everything has a cost - even the easiest of things in like, has a price. Sleep all day and it will cost you time and physical depravity, procrastinate and it will cause frustration and anxiety later. Instead of focusing on what something will cost you, be determined to give up something in your life for Christ and focus on the end result!

Week 2: Follow Me
What really stood out to you from the video for week 2?
Morning Quote:
"the Bible says in Romans that all of us have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. In other words, none of us are good enough. We've all said things we shouldn't have said. We've all done things we shouldn't have done. And so we scrub and scrub at the stain (in our lives) but the stain just won't come out.
And we reach this point, where we're not sure what to do. And so we live in denial of the stain. Or we blame other people for the stain. Or we rationalize and justify the stain. Or we just live in guilt and fear hoping somehow that no one will notice." - Pastor Kyle Idleman
Be honest, what is one of your biggest stains. Really think about it - what failure, sin, stupidity has left a a huge mark on your life?
There can never a big enough stain in your life that Jesus wouldn't love you: meditate on that thought this week!

N.A.F. Week 1
What stood out to you from lesson 1?
This stood out to me:
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23)
I love this quote from Kyle Idleman, "We say to Jesus, 'I don't mind you making some changes in my life,' but Jesus wants to turn your life upside down. We say, 'I don't mind a little touchup work' but Jesus wants a complete renovation. We're thinking tune-up, He's thinking overhaul. We think a little decorating, why not, but Jesus wants a complete remodel."
So with that thought - you guys HAVE TO Define The Relationship (D.T.R.)
Take a few minutes to define the relationship you have with Jesus - comment below on the link anonymously
Are there areas of your life that are restricted to Jesus? You have made them simply, "off limits" to Jesus?
Is your relationship casual WITH Jesus, or committed TO Jesus?
