Day 91
Jude
There was a report the other day on Air 1 radio that more and more Christians are picking and choosing their beliefs from many incompatable religions. One missions organization claims that a Muslim, which converts to Christianity, doesn't need to forsake his Islamic practices. The demands of the times today require us to earnestly contend for our faith. The greatest thing we can do is to know and live the Bible. We must become the people which Jesus commanded us to be. The book of Jude is a call for us to know and live the Word. How are you doing?
...and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 3bThe demands of the times required Jude to write to his audience of the danger they would engage in. Jude wished to write about their common salvation, but he needed to write about the false teachers who were causing havoc in the church. His strong urging was to earnestly contend for the faith. Why this urgent plea? The same urgency exists today. Their are plenty of people in this day and age that are attempting to discredit the Christian faith. Supposed Biblical scholars claim that Jesus spoke only a few of the red lettered words in your Bible, that Paul wrote only a few letters of the New Testament, and that the Gospels were really written in the second century rather than the first. Why this urgent plea today?

Day 90
3 John 1
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 John 3 & 4I have had the privilege to see several students of ministries that I worked in go on to serve the Lord. This passage resonates with me. There is no greater joy to see a student that God has affected live sold out for Christ. This keeps me going when things look bleak at times. God is so good to give us what we need at the time we need it. If you appreciate your pastor, youth leader, or teacher, show them by living for Christ. It is the very fuel they will use when they need it most. In my opinion that is the greatest gift you could ever give a leader.
Day 84
James 3-5
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work. James 3:13-16Are you bitter at anyone? You can't be bitter toward someone and know the will of God. That may seem a little strong, but it's true. According to this passage in James, the person that harbors bitterness in his heart gets his wisdom from the Devil. Verse 15 says, "This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish." It is impossible to have the full blessing of God while we are bitter at someone. While we are in this state of mind, the source of our wisdom is not from God. This week would be a great time to get things right with that person. Let us examine our heart to see if we are bitter.
