Day 91

Jude

...and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 3b
The demands of the times required Jude to write to his audience of the danger they would engage in. Jude wished to write about their common salvation, but he needed to write about the false teachers who were causing havoc in the church. His strong urging was to earnestly contend for the faith. Why this urgent plea? The same urgency exists today. Their are plenty of people in this day and age that are attempting to discredit the Christian faith. Supposed Biblical scholars claim that Jesus spoke only a few of the red lettered words in your Bible, that Paul wrote only a few letters of the New Testament, and that the Gospels were really written in the second century rather than the first. Why this urgent plea today?

There was a report the other day on Air 1 radio that more and more Christians are picking and choosing their beliefs from many incompatable religions. One missions organization claims that a Muslim, which converts to Christianity, doesn't need to forsake his Islamic practices. The demands of the times today require us to earnestly contend for our faith. The greatest thing we can do is to know and live the Bible. We must become the people which Jesus commanded us to be. The book of Jude is a call for us to know and live the Word. How are you doing?
