Day 83

James 1-2
Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. James 1:16-18
We often refer to the stuff we possess with possessive personal pronouns. For example, this is my car. Or, my television is a 42" LCD. This passage makes it clear that we are not to make this mistake. Everything that we possess comes from God. I do not have any good thing that didn't come from God. This makes the Christian the care taker of all that is given to him. So, everyday is a gift to be used for the glory of God. All of our income should be used wisely to most benefit the family of God. Our homes are to be considered a haven to anyone in need. Our cars could be the ride for those that have too far to walk. Our cupboards could be the source of food for the hungry. We do err as we refer to our stuff as my or mine. Everything that we have is from God. Let us be good managers of God's stuff.
