Acts 1-3

The book of Acts is an historical account of the infant church that was fueled by the resurrection of Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. Some amazing events happened in the first three chapters: Jesus ascends into the clouds to heaven, Judas dies, Matthias is chosen as Judas' replacement, the Holy Spirit empowers the church, people hear their own language spoken by another that hasn't learned it, and so much more.

As the disciples watched Jesus disappear into the clouds, two angels spoke to them about the future. "Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." History has moved far from this day where the Lord acsended into heaven. The promise is made that He will return in a like manner. I believe that day is closer than we think sometimes. We need to live our lives as if His return is imminent. Are you living life as if Jesus could return at any moment. I hope and pray you are.
