Acts 27-28
After Paul was pulled to safety in Acts 23, Jesus appeared to him and gave him this promise in verse 11, "And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome." As I read that promise, I realized the confidence that Paul must of had for the rest of his life...or, at least until he proclaim Jesus in Rome. In today's reading, the things Paul went through were experienced with this promise in mind.
The storm, the shipwreck, the vipor, and the Roman chains were all viewed by Paul through the lenses of God's promise. No matter what we go through here in this life we can view it through the lenses of God's promises. One of my favorite promises is Philippians 1:6. "Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:"
Pick your promise and live in confidence in the Lord.
