Day 30

John 16-18

Is there anything more comforting than to know your friends love and care for you? The idea of having someone you can trust with absolutely everything and they will not let you down is a very desirable thing. John 17 is the only place in the entire Bible where we find and extensive prayer of the Son to the Father. This friend that loves you and cares for you--it's Jesus. Isn't it fascinating to think about the fact that Jesus prayed for you. He prayed for all the ones who would one day believe in Him. He prayed that you would be set aside by his Word. He prayed that the Father would not take you out of the world, but you would be protected from the evil one. He prayed that you would stand strong in your battle against sin and our sinful desires. More importantly, he prayed that we would see His Glory. Jesus' goal for you and me, is that we learn to rejoice and find satisfaction in the presence of the majesty and awesomeness of his beauty and glory. Jesus' desire is that you would find nothing else, nor anyone else, as beautiful and glorious as He is. Jesus wants your mind to be captivated by his greatness, his goodness, his power. I must ask...is there anything else of less value that is taken hold of you mind? are you more concern for your school friends than about your relationship with Jesus? do you long for others to talk well of you at the expense of sacrificing your integrity? What has captivated your mind in the past week...school, grades, relationships, job, money, facebook, fear, anxiety?
Would you join me in praying today that God would transform us (our youth group) into being completely captivated by Him? would you pray that he would break the chains of sin in any area of our life, regardless of how fearful we could be?
