1 Corinthians 7-9
We are half way through with Chasing99. After today, there are only 49 more days.
The apostle Paul was a human being just like us. Yet, he had desires and passions that we can emulate. Do you understand the passion behind this statement by Paul, "I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some." (1 Corinthians 9:22) What drove Paul to go to the extreme limits for the sake of the gospel? 1 Corinthians 9:19 says, "For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more." Are you willing to make yourself a servant to all people that you may win them to Christ? This tells me that to reach people with the gospel I will have to work hard at it. In John 4 the end result of some people working hard to prepare the fields was that others would reap a harvest. There is that hard work again.
Do your passions and desires line up with Paul's? If not, today is never too late to change. I think that there are too many Christians unwilling to work hard to win others to Christ. Getting a field ready to harvest takes many months of hard work. However, if the hard work isn't done by someone, the harvest will never happen. I believe it is everyone's responsibility to get the field ready. I encourage you today to have a passion for preparing people's lives to recieve the free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
